Banks to pay N10,000 for failed e-transaction - CBN

Henceforth, failed Nigerian Instant Payment transaction not reversed into the customer’s account within 24 hours, based on complaint of the sender and/or beneficiary will attract a fine of N10,000, the Central Bank of Nigeria has declared.

This was stated in a ‘Circular on the regulation on instant inter-bank electronic funds transfer services in Nigeria’, issued to all Deposit Money Banks, microfinance banks, other financial institutions, mobile money operators, development finance institutions, payment service providers and other stakeholders by the CBN.

Following the resignation of Nigeria’s immediate past minister of finance, Kemi Adeosun, President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Zainab Ahmed to oversee the ministry.

Mrs Adeosun resigned on Friday after over 60 days that PREMIUM TIMES blew the lid off her forged NYSC certificate.

President Buhari Gets New Chieftaincy Title

An Ogoni monarch has conferred a new chieftaincy title on President Muhammadu Buhari, a presidential aide has said.

An Ogoni king, G.N.K. Ogininwa, announced the title of “Meni-Doo-Lenu’’ for the president when he led a delegation of the Niger Delta people to see Mr Buhari in Abuja.

The title means“the King of Doing Good Things in Ogoni-land.”

Embattled Nigerian Finance Minister Resign

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has reportedly resigned from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to sources, Adeosun resigned over allegations that she forged her National Youth Service Corps certificate.
