Nigeria gets her first female elected governor as tribunal sacks Taraba State governor .

Some minutes ago, an Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja declared the election of Gov. Dairus Ishaku, of the PDP, as null and void and declared APC gubernatorial candidate, Aisha Jumai Alhassan aka "Mama Taraba" as the winner.

The tribunal held that, all the votes cast for Dairus Ishaku were a total waste as he was not a valid candidate sponsored by his party, PDP. It then declared Alhassan, the candidate with the 2nd highest votes cast, as winner. Alhassan is one of the recently confirmed ministerial nominees....
